The commercial tradition of El Perelló has been based for many years on fishing and agriculture, becoming the main local economic engine. This is the reason behind the creation of the Cooperative, uniting more than 200 producer members who have opted for the cooperative culture.
The farmland of El Perelló is located on a sandy strip of land between the Mediterranean Sea and the rice paddies of the Albufera. The Mediterranean climate, the sandy soils (the fine sand from the sea), the slightly saline irrigation water, the subsoil of El Perelló and 73 years of experience mean that the vegetables produced by the El Perelló Cooperative are renowned for their unique and exclusive quality.
Since the beginning of the agricultural history of the area, tomato cultivation has been the protagonist and it was at the beginning of the 90's when, in order to favour the viability and profitability of the Cooperative, the crops were diversified, introducing oriental crops.
Currently, the Cooperative has a diversified production network, with a suitable crop rotation that is complemented by an organisation of production, facilities and sales network that allows its products to be present throughout Europe.
